Lev Dodin teach young British film directors

Eight young British filmmakers arrived on Thursday in St. Petersburg on a learned skill of People's Artist of Russia Lev Dodin. The two-week seminar, organized at the initiative of the British Council, starting in the Small Drama Theater - Theater of Europe.

Maly Drama often toured in the UK, and its creative leader, Lev Dodin was awarded for its prestigious Merit Award Lawrence Olivier. Thanks to the Russian drama troupe, including St. Petersburg and the MDT, the country has increased interest in the experience Repertory Theater, and in Manchester there was even the theater-house on a partnership basis with Petersburg.

Professor Lev Dodin and his assistant Valery Galendeev and Mikhail Alexandrov hold for the British master-classes on the basics of the rehearsal process, stage voice and ensemble singing.

They will visit at the performances - from the famous "Brothers and Sisters" to the recent premiere of a long journey into night, see for example, staging a comedy "Fruitless efforts of love" especially the modern stage reading Shakespeare.

Previously, Lev Dodin conducted similar workshops for actors and directors from the countries of Scandinavia and the young directors of the States of the Union of European Theaters.
